Transport Infrastructure in South East Dorset

The event is not currently available for consultation.

In 2008 Bournemouth, Christchurch, Dorset County, East Dorset and Poole Councils jointly adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance an infrastructure contributions strategy (SEDTCS) which seeks to secure appropriate financial contributions to mitigate the impact from new development proposals in South East Dorset. SEDTCS was introduced to enable a consistent and equitable approach to be made to ensure that new development contributes towards the transport infrastructure necessary to make the development acceptable. In order to mitigate the impact of new development SEDTCS aims to encourage public transport and other sustainable modes, to improve accessibility, and therefore sustainability, as well as providing improved capacity when appropriate.

To inform this process the Joint Authorities undertook a significant 3 year South East Dorset Multi Modal Transport Study (SEDMMTS) .The results of SEDMMTS were published in 2011 to guide and clarify future transport investment decisions in the South East Dorset region to meet the growth requirements. SEDTCS has been revised in recognition of this work and for transparency views on the revisions, known as SEDTCS2, are sought. SEDTCS2 is a Supplementary Planning Document and would remain in operation from 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2014 or until replaced by a locally introduced Community Infrastructure Levy.

Contained within the consultation document are a series of questions on which we would like your views. SEDTCS2 will be available for comment for a six week consultation period between 09 November 2011 and 22 December 2011.
